Requirements
  • Work closely with our inside sales department and service department.
  • Prioritize daily shipments and coordinate shipments with carriers to ensure on time delivery to local, national and international destinations.
  • Meet delivery trucks to receive and send shipments.
  • Generate sales order pick-list and gather stock items.
  • Quality check the order to ensure quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
  • Tag and label merchandise appropriately.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, package and load product correctly.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials e.g. pallets, boxes, packaging materials.
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages & document irregularities.
  • Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents. Handle freight damage claims if required.
  • Unload, unpack, verify and receive items against purchase orders.
  • Receive incoming shipments into our inventory system and verify accuracy of shipment.
  • Mark and/or label items as received with part IDs.
  • Stocking of items numerically, and according to size, shape, and type. Sort and place stock on racks, shelves or in bins
  • Material handling of items using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Ensure that forklift machines are working properly and follow all maintenance schedules.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Organization and cleaning of warehouse, parts room, service shop, and associated areas.
  • Assist with in-shop mechanical repairs, paint booth activities, and other miscellaneous tasks.
  • Adhere to safety standards and procedures and participate with the Workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma. Post secondary and/or related work experience preferred.
  • No criminal record.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver\'s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI\'s in previous 5 years.
  • Previous forklift operation experience and certification.
  • Forklifting is required inside our facility as well as outdoors and is subject to seasonal weather conditions.
  • Overhead crane experience is an asset.
  • Ability to multitask and assist wherever needed on a daily basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete packing labels and associated documentation in a legible manner.
  • Working proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook. Training will be provided for other associated inventory management and logistics software systems.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in handling frequent paperwork and documentation processes.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, and kneeling.
  • Good physical ability to move moderately heavy and/or bulky material. Will regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift or move more than 75 lbs unassisted.
  • Use of basic tools and equipment.
  • Position requires working in varied conditions including a mechanical service shop, shipping warehouse, parts storage room, with exposure to noisy operating equipment, hot and cold weather conditions, and may require the use of ladders and aerial platforms.

Schedule:
  • Day shift.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
