The Job

Zodiac Hurricane has an opening for a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Assistant to join our team. The Shipping Assistant will be responsible for supporting the shipping and receiving department by preparing orders for shipment, maintaining accurate records, ensuring timely delivery of products, and assisting with inventory control. This role requires someone who is efficient, reliable, and has a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Candidates must be willing to work hard in a fast-paced team environment and under pressure to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:



Order Fulfillment

: Assist in preparing, packing, and labeling products for shipment according to company guidelines and customer specifications.

Shipping Documentation

: Prepare and maintain shipping documents such as packing slips, shipping labels, and customs declarations.

Inventory Management

: Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock organization, and report discrepancies or low stock to the warehouse manager.

Shipping Coordination

: Coordinate with shipping carriers and suppliers to arrange for pickups and deliveries; track shipments and resolve delivery issues.

Quality Control

: Inspect products for damage and accuracy before shipment, ensuring all orders are complete and correctly packed.

Returns Handling

: Process returned items, including assessing the condition of the goods and updating inventory records accordingly.

Data Entry

: Input shipping and inventory data into the company's warehouse management system (WMS) or other relevant software.

Customer Communication

: Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipping status, delays, and tracking information.

Maintenance

: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping area, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or supply chain management is an asset. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including common carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.). Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to lift and move packages (up to 50 lbs). Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods. Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures may vary. Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.

Work Schedule:



Full-time position with standard hours of work. Occasional overtime may be required during peak seasons.
