The Ship Technical Response Team (STRT) is responsible for providing hands?on support for the Combat System(s) physical installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the program's system architecture at the shipyard and/or shore?based test facility. The role supports "fly?in/fly?out" integration and test work, providing onsite presence during a ship build plan 'Outfitting' phase and Test program execution.



The successful candidate as a member of our Ship Technical Response Team (STRT) key responsibilities include:



Cable Termination:



Install and secure all Command & Surveillance Systems (C&SS) cable terminations to the specified connectors, plugs or inline fitting as per program(s) scope of supply. Example:Single and Multimode splicing and Connectorization Local Area Network (LAN) connections, including RJ45 & RJ11 connectors Multi-pin Military specification connectors Coax, Triax and Heliax connections Installation of specialty connectors and conduit as per manufacturer's instructions

Use the approved termination kits and tooling.

Perform visual, mechanical, and electrical tests on every termination.

Record all test data in the Test Data Repository and provide pass/fail status to the SI&T Lead.

Identify and document all Cabling and Connectorization deficiencies



Hardware Integration:

Shipyard Installation Support and Configuration Management (CM) of Combat System(s) (as defined by the program), verify physical, electrical, and opto?electronic interfaces against Interface Control Drawings (ICD). Perform Combat System physical installation pre and post inspections.



System Configuration & Test:

Load combat system OS (as defined by the program), Load combat system operational software (as defined by the program), Load firmware/firmware updates (as defined by the program), apply any corrective diagnostic, verify boot sequence. Perform diagnostic "Initial Light Off" tests, capture data for analysis, and generate reports.



Fault Diagnosis & Repair:

Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or firmware faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, loopback analyzers, and vendor?specific test tools. Document corrective actions and update the maintenance log.



Documentation & Traceability

: Maintain a detailed test log, including configuration, test parameters, and results. Develop and maintain in-house technical documentation, including troubleshooting information, operating instructions, and reference materials.



Quality & Safety

: Adhere to designated program quality standards (example ISO 9001, MIL?STD 882E)

Support recommendations for combat systems safety procedures (lock?out/tag?out)



Collaboration

: Work with the Ship Integration & Test (SI&T) Lead to plan the program Test Sequence Network (TSN) and address integration issues rapidly. Attend daily "stand?ups" and nightly "debriefs."



Training & Knowledge Transfer

Conduct 1?hour knowledge?transfer sessions on a weekly basis for crew, program SI&T team and mentor the shipyard maintenance personnel on the program specific combat system(s) hardware.



Work Environment:





Short?term assignments (2-4 weeks) in fixed locations (ship, shore?based test facility). Travel to/from the assigned location company?arranged

What you bring to the role




Technical training in electrical and Electronics, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience 3+ years of operational (shipboard) Combat/Marine Systems refit and/or maintenance experience and/or military/civilian technical training Must be willing to support schedule including evenings and weekends, as required Must have an aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment (Mean time to repair (MTTR) for hardware faults) Must have a high degree of initiative and autonomy Must be able to obtain NATO Secret security clearance Cable stripping, connector crimping, soldering, heat?shrink assembly Single and Multimode splicing and Connectorization (certification required) Terminate and/or Test all required contacts into connectors as per written instructions and industry standards Impedance / VSWR measurement Fiber termination High?frequency/EMI shielding, grounding techniques Use of meters (multi?meter, clamp?meter) RF & microwave measurements and testing Firmware loading, debuggers Oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers Polarity & EMC testing (EMI/EMC, ITR testing) Integration of consoles (PC?based or standalone) Review Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
