Position Summary:
101 Street Apartments is a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) funded by the Correctional Service of Canada (C.S.C) and operated by enCompass Community Safety Agency. The CBRF works with high risk adults who were assigned male at birth, with various psychiatric disorders and physical disabilities, who are on release in the community, under the authority of Parole Board Canada. Our goal is to assist and support clients in their transition from incarceration to community living. Shift Workers are an important part of the multidisciplinary treatment team and contributes knowledge, expertise, and experience to the successful treatment of a high-risk, high need client base.
Responsibilities:
Delivery of services in a client-centred, strength-based approach
Completion of accurate written documentation, data collection and entry, intakes and assessments
Contribute to the management of a high-risk, high-needs client base by being a member of a multidisciplinary team
Ensure services are being delivered in accordance with Agency Policies and Procedures
Ensure residents have access to and are provided food orders in accordance with policies and procedures
Contribute to a positive culture by assisting and supporting colleagues as needed by encouraging the team, and teaching others about the unit's operations
Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and clients
Upholding the standard of cleanliness in staff and client areas
Participate in Monthly Program Meetings by contributing ideas, providing feedback, and helping to ensure new directions are implemented effectively
Qualifications / Skills:
Working towards a Degree or Diploma in human services field with related experience
Clear Criminal Record Check, Enhanced Reliability Screening and valid First Aid/CPR
Skilled in effective communication and fostering pro-social relationships
Ability to communicate effectively with a mental health and high-risk offender population
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
Ability to complete tasks associated with heavy lifting and complete timely rounds of the building

Conditions of Employment:
The successful candidate must be able to work shift work (including holidays, weekends, evenings, and overnight shifts) and be available for a minimum of six shifts per month, two of which must be overnights.
The hours of work are 6:45 am - 3:00 pm, 2:45 pm - 11:00 pm, and 10:45 pm - 7:00 am shifts.
The position requires frequent standing, walking up and down stairs, occasional heavy lifting, and frequent cleaning.
