Shift Support





Objective



To support Canplex Profiles Inc. by efficiently assisting the Shift Leader in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high standards of service and quality, and supporting team members during assigned shifts.

Responsible For:



1. Primary Goals:

Meet with outgoing Shift Support and Shift Leader to discuss current production activities, scheduled line changes, and personnel needs prior to going on the floor (Explain any line/equipment issues).
Maintain quality standards

Aim to minimize scrap, accurately weigh and record any scrap that is produced. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that complies with company policies and safety regulations. Follow the Shift Leader's job description, including ERP production reporting when covering the absence of a Leader.
People Leadership ensuring team development, performance, and overall effectiveness through strong leadership.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Quality:

Assist production operators at their workstation(s) while monitoring their work and breaks. Whenever quality issues are identified, practice continuous improvement in supporting the elimination of the issue by communicating with the QA Coordinator. Read the docket information and check parts on every line regularly for conformance to quality standards and arrange to correct any deficiencies. Ensure that each carton has the correct number of parts and is accurately weighed Ensure that each carton is labelled correctly and packed properly on the correct skid Collect 12" samples from lines running production. Approve and sign off parts for each setup, which occurs while you are on duty (alongside the Leader and the Setup). Stamp each box that you check with your quality stamp showing date and ID.
2. Housekeeping:

Maintain and upkeep of Production Workstations (tapes, bags, tools etc). Ensure dockets and files are properly managed on the plant floor and correctly returned. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
3. Record Keeping:

Assist in maintaining accurate records of shift activities and rejections
4. Training:

Train and mentor operators to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies. Train, coach, and advise production personnel on quality procedures as required. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department.
5. Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other organizational duties as assigned by management to support the overall objectives and success of the organization. These tasks may include occasional cross-functional assignments or special projects

Qualifications



1. Education: Post-secondary.

2. Previous experience in a support or junior supervisory role

3. Skills: Forklift operation, MS Office, ERP systems, and quality control.

4. Certifications: WHMIS, First Aid.

5. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Work Hours



Typically, 40-50 hours per week, depending on delivery schedules. Must be flexible

Salary



Based on experience.
