We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising team members, ensuring food safety standards, managing kitchen and front-of-house activities, and maintaining a positive environment that promotes efficiency and guest satisfaction. The Shift Manager plays a vital role in upholding our brand standards and fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow across all departments.
Lead and motivate team members, including interviewing, training, and evaluating staff performance.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
Manage cash handling procedures, POS transactions (including Micros POS), and ensure accuracy in billing.
Enforce food safety protocols and maintain compliance with health regulations.
Coordinate with kitchen staff on food production schedules and ensure timely service delivery.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the restaurant environment at all times.
Assist in restaurant management tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and operational planning.
Experience
Proven supervising experience within the food service or hospitality industry.
Extensive restaurant management background with knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms.
Strong leadership skills demonstrated through team management, training, and conflict resolution.
Experience in interviewing potential staff members and conducting performance evaluations.
Background in hotel or barista environments is a plus but not required.
Prior experience in food industry roles including serving, food handling, or kitchen operations is highly desirable.
Knowledge of restaurant operations combined with excellent customer service skills to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
