POSITION SUMMARY

Working Supervisor who will plan, coordinate, and control the manufacturing processes while obtaining efficient utilization of equipment, manpower, and inventories which will satisfy customer requirements and operations efficiency.

Responsibilities:



Lead, manage, and motivate the production team on your shift. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety legislation and housekeeping practices, use of personal protective equipment, and any other company policies. This includes accident investigations and documenting/forwarding any violence/harassment complaints directly to Human Resources Manager Completion of manufacturing schedules on time, on quality, and on cost. Assist in setting production run sizes and safety stock levels for raw material and WIP Adhere to and enforce all company policies according to the Employee Handbook including the discipline of direct labour workforce. Responsible for the management and prevention of workplace injuries, responsible for accommodating injured workers to suitable employment, and for reporting to Operations Manager on the prevention activities and outcomes of return to work. Safely operate industrial vehicles, lift and reach trucks to move materials through manufacturing process, as well as load and unload as needed. Working closely with Quality Assurance to ensure that all products meet company quality control standards. Monitor scrap levels and implement changes to production processes to reduce scrap levels to acceptable levels. Responsible for inventory control, audits and cycle counts. Initiate time study studies for continuous improvement of production efficiencies. Ensure all SOP's are kept up-to-date and arrange for appropriate training as required. Use power tools and hand tools including, but not limited to router, impact driver, mitre saw. Run extrusion machines, as required. Load components in jigs and fasten for semi-automated assembly, as required. Load/unload and operate CNC machines, as required. Operate various production equipment including blender machine, grinder, and granulator. Load/unload and pack at robotic work centers, as required. Log onto the work center to record work orders, scrap, and downtime. Document shift activity by completing production and quality logs. 5S and cleanup as required. Other duties as required.


Education/Skills/Experience:



Previous experience in leading a manufacturing team. Self-starter results oriented. Excellent leadership and ability to motivate production workers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include but are not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of the scheduled shift. Requires a large amount of walking in the plant and company's facilities. Must be able to stand and walk for 8+ hours at a time. Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, and safely lift 50lbs+. Overtime up to 48 hours a week may be required. Ability to complete repetitive tasks, use manual dexterity, maintain attention to detail, and strong hand-eye coordination.
