Securitas Canada is currently seeking a highly motivated Full-time Security Supervisor for our client, a global technology leader offering innovative solutions in e-commerce, cloud computing, digital media, logistics, and consumer products and services. Based in Downtown Toronto, this role involves supervising a team of security guards in a corporate office environment. The ideal candidate will have over two years of supervisory experience in corporate security, with a strong background in corporate security, performance management, scheduling, and client management. The successful candidate will be a strong team leader with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for ensuring the security of people and property.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Interact effectively across diverse cultures as well as various levels of client management teams.
Schedule security guards and cover all shifts in the event of a book off or no show.
Discipline security staff in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement ensuring all necessary steps are followed.
Perform foot patrols externally and internally.
Monitor traffic flow of checkpoints and recommend staffing adjustments as necessary.
Follow proper procedure for all matters requiring escalation.
Collect shift activity reports and review for any errors, accuracy, or omissions.
Ensure all posts are properly staffed.
Perform access control provision duties, verify visitor badges and employee badges.
Monitor CCTV surveillance cameras.
Required to know, follow, and enforce safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. Employees are required to notify superiors upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
Ensure all functions, duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representative.
MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS:
Minimum of 2 years of Security Leadership experience
Hands on experience with schedule and performance management
Valid Security Guard Licence and WSIB-approved First Aid Certificate
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private)
Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Post-Secondary education in a related field is an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to bend, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat.
Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms.
Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.
Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
