Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and safety standards, and ensuring smooth service during assigned shifts. The Shift Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant or hospitality operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met. Lead and motivate team members, including interviewing, training, and evaluating staff performance to promote a high-performing work environment. Oversee food preparation, cooking, food handling, and food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations. Manage POS systems for order processing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure seamless service. Enforce safety procedures and cleanliness standards across the kitchen and dining areas. Collaborate with kitchen staff on food quality, presentation, and timely delivery of orders. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, reporting, and maintaining compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, including supervising teams in fast-paced environments. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards. Experience with POS systems and cash handling skills are essential. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management, interviewing, and training staff. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively. Knowledge of restaurant operations including food handling, hospitality standards, and kitchen processes. Previous experience in hotel or barista roles is a plus but not required. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed; leadership qualities are essential for success in this role.
