Summary:



The supervisor will be expected to direct the activities of the pick lines (LCF and SSR), tipping floor and trailer loading employees to complete necessary production schedules safely and in a timely manner, while controlling costs, efficiency and quality. Begin shift with a safety toolbox to discuss a relevant safety topic and planned production for the day.

Principal Duties:



Supervise the daily operation of the pick lines, tipping floor and trailer loading in the MRF (Materials Recycling Facility).

Ensure checklists are completed for mobile equipment, crane and terminator, check for accuracy and hand them in at the end of the shift.

Ensure attendance sheet is filled out correctly, note any absences, tardiness and early departures.

LCF downtime report to be filled out completely and handed in at the end of each shift.

Ensure good traffic flow to tipping floor, limit delays with good traffic control.

Sign out radios to key staff, make sure they are returned at the end of the shift in good working order.

Check the metal and tire bins, if full, notify management to arrange for swap outs.

Ensure that all line positions, LCF/SSR, picking floor and trailer loading are manned properly.

Organize and supervise staff, including but limited to:

- Ensure all employees are adhering to safety regulations and policies (including PPE)

- Scheduling an appropriate number of staff for each area

- Supervising the line employees' work quality, productivity and attendance

- Training and mentoring employees

Run control panels for EREC

Responsible for ensuring that pick lines and mobile equipment are in good order, document and report deficiencies to the plant manager

Perform three walks in the yard during your shift to ensure roadways are clear of debris.

Assist management with implementing all new procedures and processes.

Involved with decisions and/or recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, and terminations.

Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation around large machinery and occupational health and safety.

Load and unload trailers as necessary, OCC trailers and pallet trailers.

Fill in workspaces when plant is short-staffed (tipping floor, trailer loading, pick line)

Work Environment

:

Required to access plant control center by three flights of stairs, and to access and traverse plant via catwalks and on the working and processing floors

Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, much of the workday

You must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment such as safety goggles, hard hat, mask, hearing protection etc.

Qualifications:



High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

3 to 5 years in a manufacturing supervisory/management role

Strong written and verbal communications skills to be able to effectively communicate to employees, management, and support staff

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
