BIOVECTRA Inc. has an immediate opening for a Shift Stationary Engineer. This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, Nova Scotia.
The Shift Stationary Engineer is responsible for keeping BioVectra's facilities operating efficiently as possible while maintaining a strict adherence to all applicable codes and regulations. The position will minimize or eliminate unscheduled production shutdowns. To perform all work with the utmost degree of quality and safety to achieve completed first time scheduled maintenance and/or minimal shutdowns, with strict compliance to cGMP regulations.
Shift:
4 days on days, 7 am to 7 pm, 4 days off
4 days on nights, 7pm to 7am, 4days off
repeats weekly.
Providing corrective and predictive maintenance on industrial processes and research equipment in a production environment.
Troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions as necessary to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations
Maintaining accurate logs of all system operations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Responding to emergency situations, alarms, and system failures and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
Collaborating with other departments, including maintenance, production, and engineering, to support operational goals.
Assisting with equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications as needed.
Providing corrective and predictive maintenance on industrial processes and research equipment in a production environment.
Performing troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs on process and research equipment.
Responsible for all utility services, purified water system and tank farm, including completion of all necessary logs for power boiler permits.
Providing quick and innovative solutions to equipment and process malfunctions.
Performing maintenance and calibration tasks as required on equipment and utilities & update Blue Mountain software as tasks are completed.
Assisting in the commissioning and qualification of equipment and utilities.
Writing and revising preventative maintenance records for the equipment and utilities. Working shift work and on call as required.
Operating and maintaining various stationary equipment, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
Monitoring and controlling all systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations during the shift
Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance of systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications
HS degree or equivalent required.
3rd or 4th Class Interprovincial Power Engineering Certificate in Nova Scotia is required, may consider recent graduates from NSCC with a Power Engineering Technology diploma.
1+ year(s) experience is nice to have.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cGMP guidelines is nice to have.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $22.82 - $39.94/hr CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
