Job Description

General Purpose:

Responsible for the effective and efficient milling of raw material, as set out by the production schedule, with superior results in quality and yield through coordination with production and quality assurance personnel. The Shift Miller works closely with the Head Miller to ensure the mill is well maintained and run efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understands all aspects of production. Understands production schedule, for Milling and Packing Maintains product quality as per product specification sheets. Maintain maximum extraction and load on all Flour runs. Ensures that production records are filled out and current. Ensure that the all daily flour production records and related communication is checked, corrected and accurately filed and circulated. Ensure sanitation is conducted based on Master Sanitation Schedule. Direct evening Sanitation personnel, as necessary. Maintain all production machinery in good operating condition, in co-operation with Maintenance Department. Advises maintenance or Operations Manager of problems. Develop procedures to improve production and quality. Assist in the training of production personnel as required. Contribute to solving equipment, product, and production problems. Assists in developing procedures and methods for running new products. Maintain practical working knowledge of Microsoft D365 and stay current on updates. Conduct all sampling and other Quality Assurance procedures. Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability. Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) while performing tasks in production areas. Performs all other related duties and assignments, including training, as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent. Level 1 First Aid Certification. Completion, or working towards, IAOM Correspondence Course. Demonstrated experience and practical working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic able to work independently as well as with cross departmental team members.

Available for shift work as well as work on weekends, holidays and call outs as required.
