Regional Transportation Manager is responsible for all aspects of Ontario trucking operations, drivers, equipment, inbound oversight and outbound dispatch to customers. Adherence to applicable provincial and federal regulatory standards is strictly enforced. Actively contributes to a positive and productive working environment.

You will be working out of our facilities in Vaughan 40% of the time and Whitby 60% of the time. This is not a Hybrid role.



Here's where you'll have an impact:



Oversee daily outbound transport operations and help manage the operating budget. Oversee the management team and support them with training, direction, and performance management. Oversee equipment fleet management to execute local transportation out of the retail service centre. Manage operational relationships with third-party carriers (respecting deadlines, financial performance), if necessary. Initiate, support and participate in transport optimization projects. Conduct transport analysis, delivery frequency analysis, and planning and activities for major events that affect our supply chain (new clients, acquisitions, new equipment, new systems). Collaborate with regional transport teams on transport forecasts and budget management to provide variance analysis and explain variances between budgets and planning. Support capital budgeting for equipment needs in areas under their responsibility. Fully support the corporate food safety vision. Collaborate with the transport team and Food Safety, managing and directing activities to ensure compliance with all OHS and food safety requirements, both internally and externally. Determines the Manpower requirements and staff appropriately reacting to any situation affecting planning (Holidays, unplanned events, etc.) in a regional setting Strong financial acumen working with the team(s) to deliver the operating and capital budget. Monitors and report daily & periodic KPI's, adjust process or execution based on data analysis. Monitor 3rd party carrier and vendor performance. Period end financial responsibility, processing accruals and period variance explanation. Respond to and ensure customer issues and discrepancies related to deliveries are handled in a professional and timely manner. Schedules equipment maintenance within Provincial Legislated requirements and ensure the safe operation of all Transport vehicles. Cross-dock transportation management where needed Final mile transport including corporate, franchise and wholesale. Drive innovation and change management with a focus on store execution, cost control and safety. Recruits, trains, develops, motivates and coaches truck drivers, and provides regular feedback, including administering corrective actions as required where required. Communicates any relevant information to the employees. Coach, counsel and discipline as required. Demonstrates outstanding leadership, with a clear vision and consistent sense of direction and serves as a role model for employees. Ensures that systems and tools are being used as instructed. Oversee Review of all Delivery Sheets and Trip Books to ensure compliance with Dept. of Transportation guidelines. Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements. Frequent travel between RSC's in Ontario is required

Educational and Working Experience Required

University education combined with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of transport management, including experience as a manager, preferably in the food or retail industry. Knowledge of various transportation industry IT tools. Energetic, inspiring and visionary leadership. Great sense of innovation and interpersonal skills. Enjoys teamwork and is highly adept at effective communication.
