Position Summary:



The Shift Lead is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Production Supervisor. Under general direction, the Shift Lead is responsible for manufacturing the Company's products to the required specifications, according to the company's quality systems and health & safety procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:



Oversee the activities and performance of team members during the assigned shift.

Ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow during the shift, including managing resources, coordinating tasks, and prioritizing activities.

Provide guidance, support, and training to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Serve as a point of contact for team members, management, and other departments, facilitating effective communication and resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise.

Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards and procedures, ensuring that products or services meet the required specifications.

Address any challenges or problems that occur during the shift, making quick decisions and implementing appropriate solutions to minimize disruptions.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe work environment and taking appropriate measures to mitigate any risks or hazards.

Assess the performance of team members, provide feedback, and recommend appropriate actions for improvement or recognition.

Maintain accurate records of shift activities, incidents, and production data. Prepare reports on performance, issues, and any other relevant

Qualifications:



High School Diploma

Previous Lean hand/Supervisor experience in Food manufacturing or relevant industry.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

Computer literacy - Microsoft Office & Emails

Skills Required:



Self-starter, motivated, enthusiastic and flexible

Adept at following instructions and processes

Able to multi-task and complete required tasks during the shift

Able to work individually and in a team, a strong team player

Sound organization and planning skills, able to complete more than one task at a time

Can communicate well verbally and written

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

Experience:



Prior work experience in a food, pharmaceutical or beverage manufacturing company, is required.

1-2 years shift lead/supervisor experience is required

In depth knowledge & understanding of production processes, procedures and policies

Follow procedures and standards determined

Communication

Record information clearly and concisely

Interact with the Supervisors on the daily operations

Ability to work in a team and independently

Responsible for own duties and tasks

A strong understanding of the bigger picture - has a sense of commitment to the department and the company - understands that the tasks within this position play an important role and participate to the success of the company

Supervisory Responsibilities:



Process operators in the assigned shift.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:



Frequently standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, eye/hand/foot co-ordination,

Exposed to a wet/noisy/vibrating/hazardous environment

Required vision - distance and ability to see colour

Required to frequently up to 22.7 kgs (50 lbs)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
