Red Seal Sheet Metal Worker - HVAC & Mechanical Systems

About the Role

On Track HVAC is actively hiring Red Seal Sheet Metal Workers to support ongoing HVAC, mechanical, and ductwork projects across Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for experienced tradespeople with strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, installation, service, and retrofit work within residential, commercial, and institutional environments.

You'll work closely with refrigeration, gas, and mechanical technicians on integrated systems where quality workmanship and proper airflow design matter.

On Track HVAC is a Nova Scotia-based mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC systems, sheet metal ductwork, refrigeration, and related mechanical installations. Our work spans commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial projects, and we focus on clean installs, code compliance, and supporting skilled tradespeople in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, install, modify, and service sheet metal ductwork and HVAC systems Install and support air handlers, furnaces, heat pumps, exhaust and ventilation systems Perform service, maintenance, and retrofit work on existing duct and mechanical systems Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, and shop/field plans Work alongside refrigeration and gas technicians on coordinated mechanical projects Assist with airflow troubleshooting, balancing, and performance issues Support system commissioning and start-up when required Maintain accurate job documentation, photos, and service records Ensure all work meets applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety standards Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment Represent the company professionally on job sites and with clients

Qualifications & Experience

Red Seal Sheet Metal Worker certification Strong, well-rounded experience across all aspects of the sheet metal trade Experience working with HVAC equipment, oil and gas-fired systems, and mechanical rooms is a strong asset Comfortable with duct transitions, field fabrication, and system layout Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Professional communication skills and a quality-focused attitude
