Position Summary

Working in our new metal flashing fabrication shop in Nanaimo, the Sheet Metal Fabricator cuts and bends metal flashing to order. The shifts are Monday - Friday and the wage range is $23 - $27 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Cut and bend metal flashings, utilizing shear and break Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications Maintain Metal Shop (assembling orders in a neat fashion, and maintaining a clean work space) Carry out equipment inspections, servicing and minor maintenance. Schedule all incoming orders and communicate lead times as required Maintain inventory of materials Provide superior customer service Practice and promote workplace safety standards All other duties as assigned by manager

Skills and Qualifications

Training and/or experience in sheet metal fabrication is an asset Weight Handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Manual dexterity Forklift experience is an asset A positive can-do attitude is essential! Effective interpersonal skills Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work overtime when required

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
