Job Summary:



The Sheet Metal Assembler is responsible for producing high-quality work with zero non-conformances, ensuring compliance with specifications, and meeting work deadlines in a safe manner. This role involves interpreting blueprints, assembling and joining sheet metal parts, ensuring accuracy and quality, while addressing any assembly-related issues to create precise and high-quality products or structures.



Job Duties & Responsibilities

Review and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand the assembly requirements and specifications. Align and fit sheet metal parts together to create the intended product or structure (e.g., flashing, wall panels, insulation, and heating & air conditioning ducts in supportive frameworks). This may involve welding, riveting, using fasteners, or other joining methods. Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and portable power tools. Checking the assembled components' measurements and ensuring they meet the required tolerances and dimensions as well as overall accuracy, completeness and quality. Keeping assembly tools and equipment in good working condition and reporting any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor. Identifying any issues or discrepancies in the assembly process and discuss solutions/adjustment with Fabricator/Lead where appropriate. Cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

Job Qualifications:



1-3 years sheet metal experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck. Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders and drawings. Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis. Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position.
