Basha Bites, based in Calgary AB, is a rapidly growing eatery dedicated to bringing the rich and vibrant flavors of the Middle East to our community. We pride ourselves on using fresh, high-quality ingredients to craft delicious and authentic dishes, from our signature shawarmas and falafel wraps. We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who share our passion for food and exceptional customer service. As a Shawarma Cook specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine at Basha Bites, you will be a key player in preparing our renowned shawarmas, wraps, and other hot and cold Middle Eastern dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and assemble a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and Middle Eastern dishes, with a primary focus on traditional shawarmas and falafel. Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as shawarma grills/rotisseries, and fryers. Chop and prepare fresh ingredients, including meats, vegetables, and garnishes. Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all food items. Handle raw and cooked food products safely and adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and food prep areas. Engage with customers in a friendly and efficient manner, taking orders accurately and providing recommendations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Shawarma Cook with a strong emphasis on Middle Eastern cuisine

(shawarma experience required).

Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation principles. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure. Strong knife skills and attention to detail. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
