The project will also design a process to evaluate the patient's need for surgery versus alternate methods for improving function. Referrals will be triaged to streamline patients to the most effective and appropriate resource.Patients who are not deemed surgical will have access to evidence-based treatments such as injections, education, group programs, and independent management through private and public providers in the East Kootenay. Patients who do need surgery will be provided support to improve outcomes and reduce co-morbidities while they wait for an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon.The Shared Care Orthopedic Project Lead will act as the key point of contact for family physicians, specialist physicians, stakeholders, funders, community, and other Division contractors and staff regarding the Shared Care project.Contract Deliverables:
