Reflex Manufacturing Ltd. is a major supplier/manufacturer of Reusable Flexible Insulation Systems in western Canada's industrial insulation and Oil and Gas markets. A significant part of our manufacturing process involves sewing together various materials to form the jacket, liner and assembly components of our insulation covers.

Sewing Machine Operator - Industrial

vacancy in our manufacturing facility.

Job Duties

Obtain cover patterns and sew according to job specifications and manufacturing instructions Sign job sheets Attach correct cords and flaps Select the appropriate threads Addition of drain grommets as per instructions Comply with all aspects of Reflex's Health and Safety Program at all times Contribute to the effectiveness of Reflex's Quality Management program Willing to work in other departments as need arise (assisting in prepping, closing and packing) Clean and maintain your sewing machine and work area

Skills

Experience with operating sewing machines. Industrial sewing experience over 1 year is an asset Attention to detail and ability to see details up to close Hand-eye coordination and willing to learn new sewing machines (i.e. double needle) Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area Ability to speak and read/write in English to be able to communicate with the team

Working Condition

Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade Use of required personal protective equipment Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment A mix of repetitive tasks, including sitting, sewing, and standing along with lifting, moving, and manipulating objects up to 18 kilograms / 40 pounds Shop hours are from 6 am to 3 pm. Monday to Friday with the possibility of overtime
Reflex will work with the successful candidate to educate you on our systems by teaming you up with highly experienced tenured coworkers. These individuals will train you to sew jackets and work throughout our shop in a safe and efficient manner in order to become an integral part of our team!
