Job Description


We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Settlements Analyst in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry, based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The role involves processing payments, adjustments, and deposits, ensuring accurate resident billing, setting up new accounts, and maintaining relationships with external clients.Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process payments, adjustments, and deposits.
  • Ensure the timely generation of accurate resident bills in accordance with established cycles.
  • Set up and maintain account fees and credits for new Billing & Settlements processes.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the operational process to prevent future exceptions and implement changes accordingly.
  • Educate and resolve client reconciliations requests or billing investigations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external clients including Property Owners/Managers, Utility Companies, and Third-Party Vendors.
  • Handle client escalations and proactively seek ways to improve NPS.
  • Make recommendations for and execute changes, improvements, and controls to the Billing & Settlements processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the Billing & Settlements department.
  • Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in the utilities or infrastructure industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on data analysis.
  • Experience in settlements, billing, or related financial operations is a plus.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
