Job Summary: Settlement Worker (Employment)

Main responsibilities

:

Conduct comprehensive client assessments to evaluate employment-related assets, needs, abilities, skills, and other key factors

Collaborate with clients to develop personalized Employment Action Plans aimed at achieving long-term job stability

Provide ongoing, face-to-face and virtual pre-employment support, including career counseling, job search training, skill-building, work preparation, and related services

Guide clients in accessing community resources to enhance job readiness, facilitating and monitoring referrals as required

Provide services in a professional, welcoming, and safe manner while ensuring confidentiality and respect for client privacy

Identify and arrange necessary accommodation and resources to help clients sustain employment

Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders to generate and manage client referrals

Stay informed about current labor market trends and emerging opportunities in local and regional industries

Achieve individual and team performance goals by effectively prioritizing tasks and managing time

Perform additional duties as required to support the role's objectives.

Required Skills & knowledge:



Social Service Worker Diploma or relevant university degree in social services sector Working experience in settlement and/or housing help environment would be an asset Familiar with current Immigration legislation, forms, processes, policies and procedures Proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving Able to exercise discretion, compassion, and empathy, and maintain confidentiality Effective time management and multitasking abilities Ability to build and maintain lasting professional relationships Be detail?oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high?pressure work environment Able to work independently, and utilize sound judgment to perform all assigned duties with minimal supervision Fluency in English is necessary and speaking one/more other languages would be an asset
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Work Location: In person
