Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:Course number and title: PPG2013H - Topics in Public Policy: Canadian Energy Policy and the TransitionCourse description: Various Canadian chapters recently convened with key players across the energy sector to engage in a dialogue on enabling a net-zero transition for Canada. Through these meeting they gathered insights and viewpoints for a unified national plan toward a net-zero economy: What is the current and desired narrative, and what are the critical gaps to achieving it? This course will examine Canada\'s economic opportunity across various sectors to position itself as a global leader in providing clean, cost-effective oil and gas in a low-carbon future. Students will examine the multi-stakeholder actors that will be required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement, which includes achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.Estimated course enrolment: 25 studentsEstimated TA support: N/AClass schedule: Wednesday, 10am - 12.30pm*The delivery method for this course is expected to be in-person. Extensive knowledge of and experience in regulatory sector required.
