Sessional Lecturer, Indigenous Studies, INDG (ITEP - White Bear First Nations)
The Department of Indigenous Studies in the College of Arts and Science and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach the following community-based courses during the following session(s):
2025-2026 Regular Session
Course Number, Section, and Name: INDG 273.3 (E21) North American Indigenous Gangs: A Comparison of Canada and the United States
Term and Course Dates: Term 1 (October 2 to October 28, 2025)

Delivery Mode: This course will be offered as a Lecture (Live in-person on White Bear First Nations).
Course Schedule: Actual days/times; daily Monday to Thursday.
Expected Enrollment Limit: 35
Location: White Bear First Nations (approx. 1.5hrs NE of Estevan, SK)
Qualifications: PhD or MA in Indigenous Studies or a related field with demonstrated expertise in Indigenous street gangs. Previous experience teaching Indigenous Studies preferred. Applicants must possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit culture as well as the socio-economic and pedagogical factors associated with teaching this body of students.

Expected Enrollment Limit: 35
Location: White Bear First Nations (approx. 1.5hrs NE of Estevan, SK)
Qualifications: PhD or MA in Indigenous Studies or equivalent with a demonstrated background in Indigenous knowledge in the local, national, and international context. Demonstrated experience [experiential knowledge] in one or more Indigenous Knowledge areas (food sovereignty, language & linguistic analyses, star knowledge, human-nonhuman animal relations, water protection, etc.). Previous experience teaching Indigenous Studies preferred. Applicants must possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit culture as well as the socio-economic and pedagogical factors associated with teaching this body of students.
A valid driver's license is required for any off campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days in recognition of preparation and marking time required. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
