How do innovations become useful in society? What is needed for a company to use such innovations successfully? Why and how do individuals and companies commercialize new ideas or technologies.Estimated Course Enrolment: 200 studentsEstimated TA Support: 225 hoursClass Schedule: In-person, Thursdays, 7 PM \xe2\x80\x93 9 PM, plus weekly office hours.Please note, the delivery method for this course is in person. In keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Centre.Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2024 \xe2\x80\x93 December 31, 2024Salary:Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,930.80Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,326.62Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,570.02Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.Minimum Qualifications:PhD required (or equivalent level of business knowledge and qualifications). A background in teaching the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation to diverse student cohorts representing a wide range of degree programs across the Faculty of Arts and Science required. Demonstrated success in supporting student learning and development in academic courses required. Demonstrated superior communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills required. Demonstrated experience in supervising teaching assistants is required.Preferred Qualifications:PhD aligned with the course topic is preferred. Applicants may be asked to supply a proposed course outline and/or references. Demonstrated evidence of writing and publishing research papers for publication/presentation at conferences preferred. Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching preferred. Experience with course management tools University of Toronto or similar online systems (e.g., Quercus, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.) not required but is an asset.Description of Duties:This course is currently planned for in-person delivery in the Fall 2024 term.
