How do innovations become useful in society? What is needed for a company to use such innovations successfully? Why and how do individuals and companies commercialize new ideas or technologies.Estimated Course Enrolment: 200 studentsEstimated TA Support: 225 hoursClass Schedule: In-person, Thursdays, 7 PM \xe2\x80\x93 9 PM, plus weekly office hours.Please note, the delivery method for this course is in person. A background in teaching the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation to diverse student cohorts representing a wide range of degree programs across the Faculty of Arts and Science required. Demonstrated success in supporting student learning and development in academic courses required. Demonstrated superior communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills required. Demonstrated experience in supervising teaching assistants is required.Preferred Qualifications:PhD aligned with the course topic is preferred. Applicants may be asked to supply a proposed course outline and/or references. Demonstrated evidence of writing and publishing research papers for publication/presentation at conferences preferred. Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching preferred. Experience with course management tools University of Toronto or similar online systems (e.g., Quercus, Canvas, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.) not required but is an asset.Description of Duties:This course is currently planned for in-person delivery in the Fall 2024 term.
