Course description:

Enhancing performance has broad appeal. This course explores current developments for achieving peak performance academically, physically and emotionally. We focus on the scientific basis of the links between performance and stress, and of the benefits and risks of pharmacological methods to achieve performance enhancement. Various stress management skills are introduced.

Sessional Lecturer 1: $9820.70;


Sessional Lecturer 1(LT): $10510.04;


Sessional lecturer 2: $10510.04;


Sessional Lecturer 2(LT): $10760.28;


Sessional Lecturer L3: $10760.28;


Sessional Lecturer 3(LT): 11030.36;


All inclusive of vacation pay;

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. in Neuroscience (or equivalent) with recent scholarly contributions in Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology Research. Knowledge of neuroscience, cognition, stress and human behaviour required. At least two years of recent teaching experience in the field is required. Preference given to those with previous teaching experince in the Human Biology Program.

Preparing of course syllabus and course marking scheme Planning and teaching weekly lectures and seminars Providing office hours for academic counselling of students Setting and co-marking assignments/exams Administrating course in accordance with University regulations as described in the Faculty of Arts & Science Academic Handbook for Instructors Supervision of TAs
