Description:

Seminars, research, and advanced studio projects give students an opportunity to address issues of transformation in print technology. As in the introductory course prerequisite VIS209H1: Contemporary Printing, this course includes studio-based experimentation and assignments exploring both traditional printmaking techniques and contemporary technologies in print culture, including publishing to 3D printing.

Class Schedule: Monday 9:00am - 12:00pm

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2024 - April 30, 2024

Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 25 students per section

Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,570.02 (inclusive of vacation pay)

Minimum Qualifications: MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with teaching experience. Strong exhibition history and currently exhibiting artist with expertise in contemporary printmaking strategies. Applicants will be asked to supply references.

Description of Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, some supervision of studio work-study assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours. Some management of printmaking studio and supplies is required.
