COG415H1S - Cognitive Science in Practice

Course Description:

This course provides Cognitive Science students with the opportunities to practice quantitative and qualitative evaluation and assessment methods in real world situations and juxtapose theory with practice. Placement activities will ground topics such as problem solving, logistics, decision making, etc., through practical application, individual and group / in-class critical reflection.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Cognitive Science or a cognate field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. preferred; experience teaching in a university environment preferred; relevant background in Cognitive Science required. Candidates should have previous experience in developing and delivering curriculum for university students; experience in teaching research methods and/or with experiential learning activities or service learning would be an asset. Experience teaching undergraduates and online software/Quercus an asset.

Description of Duties:

Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
