Course Number and Title: CDN335H1F - Black Canadian Studies

Course Description: An interdisciplinary course that interrogates the constitution of blackness in Canada. Students will study race and ethnic relations, alongside other identity formations such as class, gender and sexuality. Topics to be addressed include media, education, law, immigration and mobility, urbanism, work, political representation and the arts.

Minimum Qualifications: Master\'s degree required in Social Sciences or Humanities.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in progress or completed, with demonstrated teaching and research expertise on issues relating to Black Canadian Studies preferred. Demonstrated evidence of superior undergraduate teaching is preferred. University level teaching experience is preferred. Demonstrated evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching is preferred.

Description of Duties: Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours. The delivery method for this course is currently in-person. Please note that, in keeping with public health advisories, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the College.
