This is the third architecture design studio in the Master of Architecture program, the third studio in the MLA program, and the first in the Urban Design Program.
The studio seeks to integrate the design of architecture, the city, and landscape architecture into a single design effort and studio curriculum. It takes the future form of the city of Toronto as its subject. Through the design of an urban project situated in Toronto, students are asked to speculate about the forms of urbanity that the city's future development might conceivably foster or sustain. To do this students are asked to speculate on this future city's architecture, urbanism, and landscape architecture.
