Booth University College School of

Humanities and Social Sciences

is seeking applications from qualified persons for part-time Sessional instructors who are able to teach undergraduate courses in

Psychology (PSY120 Introduction; PSY210 Counselling Theory;

and

PSY354 Community Psychology

). In-person or virtual instructional modalities are available for these courses during the

Winter 2026

semester. There is potential for ongoing part-time appointments, depending on the successful applicant's review of teaching.

Responsibilities



Sessional faculty members are expected to prepare a syllabus, including course description, learning outcomes, course outline and assessment strategies using the Booth University College Syllabus Template. Sample syllabi will be provided to the successful candidates. Upon approval of the syllabus by the School Director and the Academic Office, detailed lesson plans are prepared in advance of course offering and posted to Populi (LMS), together with all relevant materials, including handouts, assigned reading, assignments and assessment rubrics.

Sessional faculty are assigned to one of three schools: School of Business; School of Humanities and Social Sciences; School of Social Work and report to the respective School Director during the semesters in which they are contracted to teach courses. Booth University College has three annual semesters: Fall (September - December); Winter (January - April; Spring/Summer (May - August).

Qualifications:



Minimum Masters-level credential in a relevant discipline (MA or equivalent), with specialization streams and postsecondary teaching experience of 2-3 years (minimum); Ph.D. in Psychology preferred. Equivalent professional qualifications/ designations will be considered; Satisfactory criminal record check; Fully supportive of the integration of faith and learning in a Christian university setting and a commitment to the Mission of Booth University College; Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
