Position Description

The School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA), Division of Music invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course in Winter 2024.

MUSI 214 Chromatic Harmony (January 8 - April 9)

Course Description: Part-writing and analysis with an emphasis on chromatic harmony and modulation in the music of the nineteenth century.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00-9:50
The Winter 2024 term runs from January 2 to April 30, 2024, Individual course dates are noted below; please see the for additional important dates and deadlines.

Qualifications:
  • MMus or earned doctorate (preferred) in music theory or composition
  • Significant teaching experience as well as a demonstrated ability to deliver this core music theory curriculum at the post-secondary level
Please note that the courses offerings tentative, pending funding and sufficient enrollments.

For salary information, please refer to TUCFA\'s Collective Agreement, Schedule B. As per the Collective Agreement, the Faculty of Arts adheres to the right of first refusal terms (Section 23.12.1 and 23.12.2) for Sessional Appointments.
