The Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences invites applications for Sessional Instructors for the following courses, for the Winter 2024 semester:
Winter 2024:
MAT 114 Elementary Calculus I MAT 114 DL Th 08:00-9:15 MAT 114 EL Th 09:25-10:40
MAT 151 Introduction to Statistical Methods MAT 151 HL Tu 14:00-15:15 MAT 151 KL Th 11:10-12:25
Please note, all courses will be delivered in-person and this opportunity is available to begin January 8, 2024.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chair, Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, the Sessional Instructor\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities include:

• Prepare and deliver weekly instructional lectures, assignments and examinations relevant to the course taught
• Grade assignments and exams
• Provide constructive feedback to students, including effective individualized strategies to support student success
• Maintain regular office hours
• Work collegially as a team member with the Department and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

• A PhD or Masters in Information Technology, or a related field
• University-level teaching effectiveness as demonstrated through student evaluations
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Demonstrated empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students
• Proficiency with Google Email and Apps, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience using a learning management system, such as Moodle, and familiarity with educational technologies, with an aptitude to learn other software as required
