Job Description


The Faculty of Arts at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach Journalism in the Winter 2024 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

JOUR-3010 - The Long Form

The Long Form provides students with the opportunity to improve their reporting skills and to broaden their perspective by taking the long view of contemporary issues and events. In addition to developing their expertise with enterprise journalism, narrative journalism, and documentary storytelling, students will complete a final project that reflects best practices in the long form.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant should have a background in journalism and media studies, obtained through an advanced degree in a relevant discipline or area of study, preferably in journalism or media studies. A publishing, research, outreach, and teaching background in the subject would be an asset.

Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
