Job Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a Sessional Instructor during the 2023 Fall Semester. We are seeking an instructor to teach in the following course within the Doctor of Psychology program. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

PSYC 8202 - Clinical Psychology for Organizational and Systems Change

Students explore roles for clinical psychology in development and change of organizations and of systems. We consider questions such as: What is the nature of organizations and systems in the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors? What are opportunities and responsibilities to influence policy and practice leadership? How can research evidence be translated to policy and practice? What is the psychologist\'s role when the experiences of marginalized communities are not reflected in policy and practice? How can communication and collaboration be fostered within and across organizations and systems to support health and wellness promotion; prevention of disorder; timely and appropriate assessment, intervention, and consultation; and meaningful support? What is the role of advocacy for clients and populations? Implications of cultural and individual diversities for application of clinical psychology to organizational and systems change are explored. Three hours per week.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants should hold a Doctoral degree in Psychology.
