The Department of Pathology and Microbiology is seeking a sessional instructor to assist in delivery of Virology (VPM 2110) to second-year veterinary students. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
VPM-2110 - Virology
This course is a second-year core course offered during the fall semester of the second year DVM curriculum. The course provides both theoretical and practical basis for understanding viral diseases in the animal species of veterinary importance. Special emphasis is placed on the diagnostic procedures and pathogenesis. This course presents important viral pathogens of animals and offers a theoretical and practical basis for understanding the diseases they cause.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a DVM degree. Preference will be given to those with advanced training or experience in veterinary virology and Board certification in virology or anatomic pathology.
Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
Salary: As per Sessional Instructor Stipends outlined in the Collective Agreement of the UPEI Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1.
