The Island Studies Program in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor to teach IST-6040: Research Methods and Design for Island Studies - Winter 2025. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.IST-6040: Research Methods and Design for Island StudiesThis graduate course introduces students to the research designs, methods, and methodologies associated with Island Studies scholarship. It addresses a broad survey of the kinds of questions students will encounter when they read research that has been undertaken by others and when they undertake their own research. Although there is some complementarity with research designs and methods used in other disciplines, this course focuses on research within the context of small islands.The successful applicant should have a Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or area of study, preferably in Island Studies, or in a related discipline. Those with a Master's degree and at least two years of teaching experience would also be considered for the position.
