The Department of History at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a Sessional Instructor for the 2025 Winter Semester. We are seeking an instructor to teach the following course in the Department of History. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.HIST-3320 History PEI Post-Confederation (3 Credits)This study of Prince Edward Island from 1873 until 1945 emphasizes its entry into Confederation, provincial-federal relations as they affected Prince Edward Island's history, and the development of the province's rural society and culture during decades of economic struggle and population decline. It is recommended that History 3310/3320 be taken in sequence. Lecture: Three hours a week. Restriction: Student must have second year standing or above OR have permission of the instructor.HIST-3320 is scheduled as an in-person course for the Winter semester 2025 on Tuesdays from 6:00-8:50PM. It may alternatively be taught online.Qualifications:Successful applicants will have a graduate degree or a doctoral degree in Atlantic Canadian history.Please note that applicants on the UPEI sessional roster for History will be considered first.Application Instructions:
