Job Summary:
The College of Arts requires sessional faculty for the 2023-24 academic year and beyond to teach ARTS 299 . Candidates may also be asked to teach UNIV 101, PORT 398 or PORT 399.

The successful applicant will have proven experience using adult learning theory to facilitate reflective practice and narrative inquiry related to undergraduate career education; demonstrated teaching excellence using a hybrid and online model, or equivalent experience; experience teaching in the affective domain, Indigenous career development,; and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion demonstrated through applied equitable career learning practices.

Students in the Bachelor of Arts engage in academic credit courses designed to demonstrate how a Liberal Arts education leads to multiple career pathways and prepares them for the future of work. Students explore diverse perspectives on the meaning of work, skill develop in higher education as transferable to the workplace, and strategies for career development throughout a lifespan. The College of Arts is committed to fostering interdisciplinary learning, integrative reflective practices, Indigenization, equity, diversity, and inclusion as central to the career development for each graduate.

Qualifications:
Applicants with a PhD in Educational Studies (with a concentration in Adult Education, Career Education, or Learning Sciences) from a recognized/accredited post-secondary institution are preferred. Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years teaching experience at the post-secondary level, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage learners in reflective practice and the online environment. The Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) or equivalent designation is an asset. Candidates currently working on a doctoral degree or with a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a closely related field in combination with extensive applied experience may be considered.
