The Faculty of Art invites applications for the following anticipated course offerings in the Spring 2025 term:
EXAN-3008 Adv. 2D Character Animation (0.5 credit)
(Spring 2025 Semester: May 20, 2025 June 27, 2025; Tuesday and Thursday: 3:10PM - 6:10PM; Blended (In Person & Online)
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students with prior character animation experience deepen their knowledge of 2D animation principles and experiment with drawing, timing, physics, lip sync and performance. 2D digital frame-by-frame and puppet animation techniques are further practiced and refined in a series of short projects. Screenings of historical and contemporary examples, and discussions around issues of representation, stereotyping and caricature in animation provide critical context for studio assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching and teaching-related responsibilities may include but are not limited to: course outline development, studio preparation and delivery inclusive of lectures, critiques, grading, mid-term evaluations and final evaluations/reviews; including responsibility for health & safety and meeting academic and curricular requirements and deadlines.
