The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a

Sessional Instructor

to teach

Winter 2026 ACCT 603

(Management Accounting) on Mondays 14:00-16:45. Classes in the Winter 2026 semester run from January 12, 2026, to April 14, 2026. Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between April 17, 2026, to April 28, 2026, if applicable.

The calendar description of the course:

Breakeven analysis, activity-based costing and management, budgeting, productivity measures, and other tools and techniques that are part of a planning and control system that will help the manager make better economic decisions.

Qualifications

A post-secondary degree in a related field and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada are both required Previous post-secondary undergraduate accounting teaching experience in managerial accounting is a requirement Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching at the masters level Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience teaching ACCT 603 Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset
