Course Number and Title: STA2535HF L0101- Life Insurance Mathematics

Course Description: This graduate course develops the theory and application of life insurance products. Beginning with basic life insurance and annuity valuation, the course introduces the concepts of premium reserving, multiple decrements, multiple life insurance, and expense loading. As well, topics in pension mathematics will be covered. The course and projects emphasize numerical implementation and practical relevance..

Estimated Course Enrolment: 34 students.

Estimated SIA Support: 30 hours

Class Schedule: Mondays 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Tutorial: Thursdays 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM

Delivery Method: In Person

Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023

Salary: $52.26 per hour plus vacation pay.

Qualifications: The candidate should be proficient in Moody\'s AXIS, both in terms of coding in AXIS and reading and reconciling AXIS reports. They should have at least an undergraduate degree from statistics or actuarial science (or related field).
