Infra. Platform Architect 19 : Salaries typically range from $109,810 to $146,413 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office

Team Overview:

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC: + Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC's 2030 business transformation.
+ Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
+ Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
+ Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
The ServiceNow Principal Platform Architect will be part of the ServiceNow Platform Team. This role works in collaboration with the business context and requirements and proposes technical solutions that are implemented with the ServiceNow platform. The role's technical expertise is broad and technical, and covers all aspects of the platform such as integration and data management (CSDM), ServiceNow platform solution design and ServiceNow architecture at its core, platform performance and scalability, technical leadership and collaboration with the team and with the business and technical stakeholders. Expect to be immersed in the Microsoft Azure environment, business intelligence, data visualization, operational reporting and ETL frameworks, integration, API, Portals, Content Management, ERPs, Workflow, Digital Design, Customer/User Experience, and Security. To be successful in this role, you will have to use your design skills, analytical aptitude, and high level of communication both oral and written.

What you will be doing:

Lead the creation and evolution of the overall solution platform design with respect to the ServiceNow best practices and team standards. Define and govern platform architecture across technical domains such as data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity domains to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy. Drive architectural decisions that balance innovation, risk, and operational efficiency, while ensuring compliance with standards and regulation. Develop and maintain architectural blueprints for ServiceNow implementations, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards of EDC such as the Well-Architected Framework. Design solutions in the core platform and advise on the design of the business space, such as Customer Service Management (CSM), Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD), IT Service Management (ITSM), and Security Operations (SecOps). Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the different teams, ensuring best practices and high-quality deliverables. Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and other architects, business analysts and third-party vendors to gather requirements and translate them into effective ServiceNow solutions. Oversee the configuration, customization, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and industry trends and proactively recommend improvements to enhance platform capabilities. Attend workshops for stakeholders to convert vision and value, business requirements into efficient solution designs. Create and define capability models and technical architectural models. Oversee the implementation and operationalization of end-to-end solutions. With the help of the Admin team and the service tower team, address architecture questions with the team to ensure consistent and sound solutioning. Document architecture solutions using architect tools such as diagrams at multiple level of abstractions, documentation and technical presentations. Ensure consistency in architecture and engineering approaches.

What we are looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Minimum 12 years' experience in IT solution architecture, ideally ServiceNow. Minimum 10 years' applied experience on the ServiceNow platform in various functions. Minimum 2 ServiceNow Certifications, such as Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), and Certified Application Developer (CAD), or any other ServiceNow certifications. Key understanding of solutions related to a modern ecosystem such as: domain architecture, microservices, APIs, streaming, Cloud technologies, real-time dataflows, orchestration, Cloud, and DevOps. Influential leadership, ability to mentor architects and evolve architectural practices.

Strong communication skills with ability align organization on complex technical decisions. Excellent analytical skills, ability to resolve problems and make decisions. Deep technical knowledge; architecture and development patterns and practices. Experience managing technical priorities within the backlog. Bilingual in both official languages (French and English).
