Your Opportunity:

The Service Worker II Attendant is an integral member of the Mazankowski Cardiac Operating Room (OR) team that requires the ability to prioritize tasks to support a busy and dynamic environment that includes both pediatric and adult cardiac surgery patients.

Description:

As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by unit staff. You will transport patients (clients, residents) and equipment to and from different units when needed and distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout units. You may also transports lab specimens, blood and blood products, clean patient care equipment and transport patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required. In addition to the duties of a Service Worker II, you will ensure that exam rooms and multipurpose rooms are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the medical and nursing staff is available.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience with patient portering and knowledge of Safe Patient Handling is required. The ability to function independently as well as in a team setting is necessary. Demonstration of strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required. The successful incumbent will have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and will be highly motivated and self-directed. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous OR experience in dealing with sterile products and setting up sterile fields is preferred. Five years of experience in hospital setting is preferred.
