We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Service Worker to join the multidisciplinary Pediatric Surgical Inpatient & Outpatient team at Stollery Children's Hospital. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Pediatric ENT, Ophthalmology, and Surgery Clinics, the Service Worker plays a key role in supporting the inpatient unit (4D) & the surgical clinics. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that specialized equipment used in the Clinic is cleaned and maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and AHS infection prevention standards. You will also collaborate with clinic staff and Environmental Services to clean and disinfect various areas of the clinic. Additional duties include setting up equipment in patient care areas, transporting patients and equipment to various areas throughout the hospital, rooming patients, and stocking supplies. The Service Worker is responsible for providing a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for patients and families by managing general housekeeping duties, linens, monitoring inventory of supplies, waste handling, and maintaining patient confidentiality. The role requires the ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently while adapting to the needs of the clinic. This position will be trained to support all areas of the program (Trauma & Inpatient Surgery, ENT, Surgery & Ophthalmology Clinics) as well as other inpatient units (4C, 4E3, 4E4, 5G, and 5C2) to support patient care and operational needs. Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 level of education or equivalent required. Current BCLS - HCP is required and must be renewed annually and physically able to perform. Current Pediatric experience in a hospital/clinic setting is required. Ability to work in a team environment to ensure work is completed quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision. Must be reliable, flexible, and dependable. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with patients of varying mobility. Must be capable of performing heavy duties requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling patients with varying mobility. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Must be familiar with the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care. Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with recent acute care experience in pediatrics. Preference will be given to candidates with previous childcare experience and/or education.
