Your Opportunity:Preadmission Clinic, Day/Same Day Surgery, Ophthalmology Day Surgery, and Cataract Surgery are a fast-paced dynamic units providing care to a wide variety of patients. The Service Worker I is responsible for contributing to safe patient care and efficiency to units within the program and elsewhere as directed. The Service Worker I is responsible for properly maintaining and handling hospital equipment, supply ordering and monitoring, and handling/portering specimens throughout the Hospital. The Service Worker is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of equipment as well as restocking supplies and linen. The Service Worker I plays a key role in supporting clinic functions and patient care. Staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital serves a unique inner-city population, and we want to do it well. The Surgery program maintains the expectation that all employees do so with pride, compassion, and respect.Description:As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
