Purpose

Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain equipment used in farming, land clearing and similar activities.

Job Duties

This individual\'s responsibilities include:

\xc2\xb7 Instruct apprentices

\xc2\xb7 Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions

\xc2\xb7 Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required

\xc2\xb7 Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts

\xc2\xb7 Keep maintenance reports and documentation

\xc2\xb7 Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers\' specifications

\xc2\xb7 Attach components and adjust new farm equipment

\xc2\xb7 Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work

\xc2\xb7 Service attachments and working tools

\xc2\xb7 Verify and repair emission control systems

\xc2\xb7 Interest in learning methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of agricultural equipment

Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Language requirement: English

\xc2\xb7 3 years to less than 5 years experience

\xc2\xb7 Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience

\xc2\xb7 Work Setting: in shop, on-site customer service

\xc2\xb7 Own tools/equipment: tools, steel-toed safety boots

\xc2\xb7 Valid driver\'s licence

\xc2\xb7 Weight Handling: up to 23 kg (50 lbs), up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

\xc2\xb7 Work conditions and physical capabilities: outdoors, non-smoking, dusty, hot, noisy, physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, overtime required, standing for extended periods
