Founded in 1993, Nexeed provides complete equipment solutions to leading seed and grain processors throughout Canada. We have been the exclusive Canadian dealer for Cimbria A/S since 1993. We now also exclusively represent Schule GmBH of Germany and BoMill of Sweden in Canada. We provide innovative processing ideas, robust and reliable equipment, and comprehensive product support to our clients. Nexeed is recruiting a new Service Technician to our Winnipeg-based team.

We are looking for a problem solver with a strong technical background and experience with seed and food-grain processing plants, who can work independently with customers in the seed, grain, and food processing industry.

Position Responsibilities:

Reports to the Technical Services Manager. The primary focus is various technical supports for optical sorters including start up, training, and ongoing service support for optical sorting (a.k.a. colour sorting) equipment used in the seed, grain, food, and industrial sectors. You will assist with machine demonstrations & tests for prospective customers, provide guidance and technical advice to installers, visit customers to commission new machines and train operators, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. You will interact regularly with customers across Canada and with our suppliers in Italy. You will develop a working knowledge of other parts of process technology beyond the optical sorting & specialized milling technology. The role includes room to grow into a support role for the broader range of equipment supplied by Nexeed beyond the optical sorters.

Qualifications:

Aptitude and demonstrated ability in maintaining, servicing, or commissioning technology which includes computers, electronics, and mechanical components.

Post-secondary technical education in a relevant field (such as electrical or electronics or mechanical engineering technology), or equivalent experience.

2-4+ years experience in a relevant position preferred.

A background in seed and or food processing is strongly favoured.

Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with basic hand tools

Positive & proactive attitude

Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Excellent organization and attention to detail

Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision

Ability to travel a significant portion of the year - up to 60% (passport required for occasional international travel)

Prior experience with any of the following is a strength:

--optical sorting technology,

--seed or grain cleaning, or milling

Bilingual (English & French) is not required but would be valuable, and competency in Italian would also be of value.

Compensation:

Competitive salary depending on education, experience and other qualifications, plus a competitive benefit plan, group RRSP with employer contribution, and vacation based on experience.
