Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Service Technician located in Markham, ON. The Service Technician will be responsible for maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, field service, and providing exceptional customer service on laboratory equipment and instruments.
Service Instrumentation for Customers by
• Participating as part of a technical support and sales team that resolves customers' problems and issues
• Installing equipment in customer's establishment, including demo equipment for evaluation, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
• Scheduling and prioritizing service calls with customers on a timely basis based upon an assessment of the critical nature of the situation; minimizing disruption to customers' laboratory operation.
• Responding to requests for emergency repairs.
• Installing scheduled periodic software/hardware upgrades.
• Communicating with customers, sales representatives, and internal staff as related to the nature of the customer's problem.
• Troubleshooting on the phone and/or on-site to determine service needs and customer training and support required.
• Analyzing malfunctions of instruments; testing, calibrating and determining necessary steps to fix equipment; repairing defective and troublesome equipment in customer's site and/or in service bay.
• Instructing customers on the operation or proper use of equipment, as required.
Qualifications
• Electrical/Electronics Technologist diploma or similar from an accredited institution
• Field experience with laboratory equipment preferred
• Maintenance & Repair, Troubleshooting, and Field Service skills
• Experience in providing top-notch Customer Service
• Knowledge of maintenance practices
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Technical certification or diploma in a related field preferred
• Prior experience in a laboratory or scientific environment is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license is required
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$44.27 per hour
Expected hours: 36.25 per week
