Your Contribution
As a Mobility Equipment Technician, you will play a key role in the repair, maintenance, and setup of mobility equipment. Types of equipment would include non-powered equipment like gait trainers, walkers, commodes, standers, and wheelchairs. This role may develop to include powered equipment lifts, powered assist equipment, and powered wheelchairs. A day in the life of a Mobility Equipment Technician includes:
Maintaining, cleaning, disinfecting, and repairing equipment
Inspecting and testing rental and loaner equipment before use by customers
Set up of new product for customers and the showroom
Assisting the shipping department with the assembly of commodes, walkers, etc.
Completing applicable paperwork such as order forms for parts, quality control checklists, and completing work orders to ensure everything is correct on the equipment
Your Qualifications
Computer skills including typing proficiency and MS Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
Mechanical and electronic aptitude.
Working knowledge of various hand tools and digital multimeters.
Knowledge of fasteners, metric and standard threads.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Time management capabilities and flexibility.
The ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods, work in a noisy shop environment, and lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
Customer service experience is considered an asset.
Product knowledge is considered an asset.
Applicants should be comfortable dealing with vulnerable people who have various special needs and be empathetic to their circumstances. Applicants must be compliant with public health and workplace safety regulations. A criminal record check may be required.
